War Horse by Michael Morpurgo

Hi readers, Instead of reviewing a new book I thought I would do an older book!

War Horse by Micheal Morpurgo

The first world war has just started and Joey a farm horse is sold to the army and sent to the western front. The beautiful horse is trained for army work and helps injured soldiers. Will he get home?

My review
I loved reading War Horse (I read the whole thing in a hour and a half!). It is really good for older kids because it's about war. It is quite long but is definitely a brilliant book!

I hope you will read War Horse,

My Story: Blitz A wartime girl's diary 1940-1941

Hi readers, I haven't posted for ages as I have been very busy on my other blogs so I figured it was about time to catch up. I am doing a series of the My Story books. These are based around Historical events.

My Story: A wartime girl's diary 1940-1941 is by Vince Cross.
This diary is written by a fictional girl called Edie who is evacuated with her little brother to Wales. She is determined to stay strong but life in countryside proves to be tougher than the city. Edie is torn between obeying her parents and protecting her brother.... Will Edie and her little brother get back to the capital?

I loved this book and would recommend it for children 11+.

I hope you will read this book and enjoy it as much as I did,

My story: A Victorian girls diary 1871 Workhouse

Hi readers, todays review is one of the My Story series.

This book is written by Pamela Oldfield. The title is A Victorian girls diary 1871 Workhouse.

This book is really well written and shows what life was like during the Victorian era. Edith first visits the work house in the January of 1871 with her mother where she meets Rosie a rebellious, quick tempered orphan who regularly gets into trouble. When Edith finds herself drawn into Rosie's wild schemes they're lives are never the same. Will Rosie ever learn to behave?
I absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to 12+ unless a parent/Carer was reading it to them.

I hope you will read this book,

Book Worm :)

My Story: Mill Girl A Victorian girl's diary 1842-1843

Hi readers, here's another book in the My Story series.

My Story: Mill Girl A Victorian girl's diary 1842-1843 is written by Sue Reid. Eliza is shocked when she is sent to work in a cotton mill. The work is back breaking and dangerous and as she sees her friends lives wrecked by poverty Eliza realizes she has to fight to escape the fate of a mill girl.

I loved how this book showed the conditions that many children worked in during the Industrial Revolution. The age I would recommend is 11+.

Pony club secrets: Nightstorm and the Grand Slam

Hi readers, I absolutely love this book so I thought it would be a good one to share with you.

The Pony club secrets series is written by Stacy Gregg who also wrote the Pony club rivals series. Nightstorm and the grand slam is the last one in the series so I figure I should do the other ones as well! Issie is entered into Badminton and Burghley, two prestigious horse trials, in the aim to win the Grand Slam. But disaster strikes when Nightstorm gets colic and Victory gets sold. Will she do it?

I recommend this book for 10+ as it is quite long. As I have said before I read very fast so it only took me a day(ish). I rate it 10 out of 10 as it is a brilliant story and you won't want to put it down!

I hope you will try this brilliant book,

Book Worm :)

RUBY REDFORT PICK YOUR POISON

Hi readers, I haven't done a review for ages and I have been busy with my guinea pig blog a lot recently so I thought it was time to do a book one for a change.
Todays book is Ruby Redfort Pick your poison by Lauren Child author of Charlie and Lola and Clarice Bean. I have done all the other books in the Ruby Redfort series and this is the second to last one so there won't be many more reviews on the Ruby Redfort series :( .

This is a really good book and the characters are just as good as always. The story line is like this(but I'm not giving too much away) Ruby and her friend Clancy Crew are in the sights of a villain Baby face and at HQ Ruby isn't sure who are her friends or who are her enemies. An Explorer gets poisoned and almost doesn't survive. Who is going to survive? A brilliant read for older children around 11+.
I give Ruby Redfort pick your poison 10 out of 10 because I couldn't put it down!!

I hope you try this amazing book,

Book Worm :)

The Dotty Dalmation

Hi readers, I recently read this hilarious book by Anna Wilson and I thought it would be a good review for younger children(or older!!). I have previously done a review on one of Anna Wilsons other book, The Smug Pug(have you noticed they're both dogs?).
This is an hilarious book for younger children and has calamity and a good ending (what's not too like?).
When Mrs Fudge needs a new assistant and Pippa isn't very pleased, and who's breaking into peoples houses? Who owns the big spotty dog running through the town of Crumbly under edge? I loved it and I'm sure you will too.
I rate this book 9 out of 10 as it is a good book for younger children. I read really fast so I read it in a day but it is still a good book.

I hope you try it,

Book Worm :)

The wedding planners daughter and The wedding planners daughter from the heart

Hi readers, it's been ages since a last did a book review so I decided it was about time I did a post and this one is a double review for 2 in the same series.

The Wedding Planner's Daughter
Number one in The wedding planners daughter series, so obviously you should start with this one. The author is Coleen Murtagh Paratore. The main characters are: Willa Havisham, Stella Havisham, Tina Belle, Nana and Sam Gracemore. The storyline is quite complicated but here's a bit of an idea of how it goes; Willa lives in the seaside town of Bramble in Cape, USA and she has a great friend in the form of Tina. I don't want to give to much away but there's a few weddings and that means a wedding disaster at some point.

I rate this book 10 out of 10 because I love the storyline and the ending.

The Wedding Planner's Daughter from the heart
Number three in this series it's a brilliant book. The main characters are the same as in the first book  . The storyline is a bit easier than the first book.Willa gets to plan a wedding for her Aunt Ruthie and her fiancĂ© Spruce. Bird problems on Bramble beach and how is Willa going to do everything and what about the stray dog that Willa really wants?

I rate this book 10 out of 10 as well as I love all these books and the storyline is brilliant.

I hope you will try these books,

Book Worm :)
